2025 Income Tax Deadline in Ireland Extended for ROS Users

2025 Income Tax Deadline in Ireland Extended for ROS Users

Revenue has announced an extension to the 2025 income tax deadline in Ireland for those filing online through the Revenue Online Service (ROS). This change gives qualifying taxpayers extra time to file their 2024 Form 11 and make the required payments.

New Extended Deadline

The new deadline is Wednesday, 19 November 2025. To qualify for this extension, you must:

  • File your 2024 Form 11 income tax return through ROS

  • Pay your preliminary tax for 2025 through ROS

  • Pay any balance due for 2024 through ROS

If either your filing or payment is made outside of ROS, the standard deadline of 31 October 2025 still applies.

Who Benefits from the Extension?

The change mainly benefits self-employed individuals and business owners who use ROS. It also covers returns and payments for Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) if the valuation date is in the year ending 31 August 2024.

Why Early Filing Still Matters

While the extension gives you extra time, waiting until the last minute can cause problems. Filing early:

  • Allows time to correct errors

  • Helps you plan for any tax due

  • Lets you take advantage of potential tax-saving strategies

In short, it gives you peace of mind.
