RICHARD OSHEA CONSULTANCY
Claim Your Diesel Rebate
Fuel is a major cost for many transport businesses. However, qualifying operators may be able to reclaim part of the Mineral Oil Tax paid on diesel used in eligible vehicles.
The Diesel Rebate Scheme (DRS) allows qualifying road transport operators to claim a repayment through Revenue.
We help you check your eligibility, register for the scheme and prepare your claims through ROS.
UNDERSTANDING THE DIESEL REBATE SCHEME
What Is the Diesel Rebate Scheme?
The Diesel Rebate Scheme allows qualifying road transport operators to reclaim part of the Mineral Oil Tax paid on diesel purchased in Ireland and used for business transport activities.
To qualify, the diesel must be used in a qualifying vehicle and meet Revenue’s requirements. The scheme covers qualifying road haulage and passenger transport operators.
The rebate rate can change each quarter because Revenue calculates it using the national average diesel purchase price. Learn more here.
